For nearly 20 years, I have worked hard to develop a deep and thriving practice in the defense of medical malpractice and nursing home negligence claims. As a partner with Rubin, Sheeley, Paterniti, Gonzalez & Kaufman, as I did with my prior firm, Wilson Elser in White Plains, NY, I represent a range of health care facilities and professionals in cases involving a variety of medical specialties. I regularly defend nursing homes in claims arising from falls, pressure ulcers, medication errors and other issues. In a supervisory capacity, I am responsible for managing and resolving pending medical malpractice claims. My highly effective, organized approach to litigation continues to draw requests to teach associate attorneys how to synthesize the facts contained in medical records and provide clients with cogent case analysis. I develop and present lectures to hospital residents at all levels on the importance of documentation and the role it plays in defending malpractice cases. In addition, I lecture at hospitals and long-term care facilities regarding the role of the health care provider in reducing litigation risk.
