Programme Manager at Play Nation, Education and outdoor space development Over 10 years of classroom experience within Primary schools across Early Years Foundation Stage, Key stages 1 and 2. Specialised in PE and sport when training, but during my teaching career gravitated towards maths eventually receiving a MAST masters: focussing on maths learning in an outdoor environment. As a champion of outdoor education, the trend of recent years to encourage children to get active at school and learn outside the classroom is a bold step in the right direction. No child wants to sit at a desk for 6 hours a day!Play Nation has clear goals to bridge the gap between educator’s ambition and opportunity: when trying to incorporate their outdoor space into an inspiring learning environment. My goal is to help reflect schools needs in our projects and give both educators and children the learning environments they require and deserve.
