James McClelland has worked in the corrections field since 1987 and has experience in various Florida correctional settings to include county jails, state correctional institutions and private facilities. During his career with the Florida Department of Corrections, Mr. McClelland held positions in Operations, Staff Development, Environmental Health and Safety, and the Inspector General’s Office. In 2012 he retired from the Department as an Assistant Warden. Mr. McClelland joined the Bridges International team in 2012 as a Quality Management Compliance Evaluator. In 2014, he was promoted to the Director of Facilities Operations and Management, where he oversaw the development and operational launch of new programs. Additional responsibilities included organizational procedure development and ensuring all sites throughout the United States and Canada met required licensing and contractual obligations. In 2016, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer. Mr. McClelland enjoys leading organizational change and establishing leadership principles that foster ethical behavior and exceptional service. Mr. McClelland earned a Criminal Justice Degree from Indian River State College and is a graduate of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Senior Leadership Program. He served as an Adjunct Criminal Justice Instructor at two state colleges and is also an Auditor for the American Correctional Association. He holds membership with both the Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute Association and the American Correctional Association. In 2016, Mr. McClelland obtained Department of Justice Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) certified auditor status.
