• Co-ordinate resources, (operational and human) schedules and activities to effectively manage jobs. • Ensure supplies are ordered for each job. • Assist with quoting, project management, materials purchasing and quality checks. • Ensure correct job numbers are used and that time records are correct.• Provide oversight and check job estimates. • Manage inward goods, checking quantities, dispatching goods and receipting invoices • Regularly report progress on each job and quickly communicate delays or concerns with the Director - Operations. Report on manpower overruns or shortfalls. • Act as a technical adviser on key projects and other areas of the business as requested. • Work with the Director - Operations to respond to client’s requests for updates on the status of their jobs and keep the communication channels open to ensure information is accurate. • Identify client’s needs and explain/demonstrate services to them, which may involve technical descriptions of products and the way they may be used. • Receive and review feedback from customers and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction. • Work with the Directors to investigate customer complaints and concerns arising from products and suggest appropriate solutions. Discuss with team to identify appropriate course of action. • Develop and implement systems to record, file and store information pertaining to client enquiries. • Identify staff that require on-going training and implement training opportunities to ensure their skills are improved. Work with apprentices and semi-skilled staff to role model appropriate technical skills. • Provide feedback to staff that are not performing to the expected level and ensure human resources are informed of trends in performance. • Promote a Health and Safety culture within the business.

Happy to share that I now have the pleasure of not only working along side our fantastic UK team but I have the pleasure of supporting the whole Doornbos group.

One of my roles is to control everything we spend money on here at Dormor Machine & Engineering Co. Ltd I buy everything from toilet roll to sub-contracting work out and it is my job to cut costs for the company.I overlook everything that we spend money on and negotiate with all our suppliers and customers to get the best deals done.As in many places now I have a duel role as the Quality Manager, in charge of all customer complaints non-conformances and the general quality of the site I also work closely with the machine shop manager on health and safety and keeping this to the standards needing to be met. Also was tasked with getting the company ISO Accredited which I achieved within 6 months writing all the quality manuals putting in procedures and managing all aspects of the quality flow through the company.I up keep all aspects of the quality system and I am responsible for ensuring the site meets all its yearly objectives.

Working with steel Milling machinery including Mazak H-630 Mazatrol M Plus controller / 6 pallet changer – Mazak 680 / 8800 / HCN twin pallet machines - Cincinnati Milacron Lancer / Cincinnati Acramatic A2100 controller – Monarch VCM75 GE FANUC controller.Work involves milling steel casts – face-off drilling tap boring & chamfer etc.Promoted to Quality technician, progressed to working on the quality side of the business. This entails; measuring jobs, inspecting parts, determining good from bad jobs, passing or failing parts and 1st off inspection. I further enter all quality issues on the database using Emax, Excel, Sage and Power Point applications and I deal with all other quality issues.
