Jim Mendelson was appointed as the Senior Policy Advisor for Intelligence Community Resilience in Early 2022 where he is the programmatic lead for Intelligence Community Mission Resilience Governance and chief subject matter expert in the areas of federal FCD-1 continuity, organizational business continuity, mission resilience, emergency management, crisis management, risk management, critical infrastructure protection, cyber security, disaster recovery, threat/hazard analysis and exercises. Mr. Mendelson has a demonstrated 25-year history of enhancing organizational resilience though working with business processes, strengthening infrastructure, and investing in people. Prior to this role, Mr. Mendelson was appointed as the Chief, IC Resilience Compliance, Reporting, and Policy Oversight, COVID0-19 Incident Commander for the Intelligence Community, and selected to be the Chief, Mission Assurance Group. Prior to the ODNI, Mr. Mendelson served as a career Supervisory Law Enouncement Officer for the Central Intelligence Agency’s Office of Security as a manager in enforcement, force protection, security, emergency operations and training programs. Prior to his federal service Mr. Mendelson served as a local Emergency Manager in the State of New Jersey.Mr. Mendelson is diversely educated with a Master of Science (MS) in Engineering Management with a focus in Crisis, Emergency and Risk Management from George Washington University; a Bachelor of the Arts (B.A.) in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice; and a Graduate Certificate in Creative Leadership Strategies from the University of Maryland at College Park.
