About James Adams

Currently, I am serving as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Judge Nelson in Minnesota's Second Judicial District, and previously served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the slate of judges in the First Judicial District of Iowa. This has afforded me the opportunities to refine my legal research and writing proficiencies across diverse areas of law, while gaining invaluable insights into the inner workings of the court system in both Minnesota and Iowa. When my clerkship for the Judge Nelson comes to close, I look forward to working as a Minneapolis-based dual-licensed attorney. I envision the ideal position to be one where I play to my strengths, namely, legal writing, analysis, and oral advocacy. While I may be able to identify my areas of strength and natural ability, I also recognize that, as a relatively new attorney, the need for humility and the willingness to learn. That involves a continually renewed initiative to seek out collaboration and mentorship.
