Next Step Solutions was set up to provide electronics and associated software design to customers in the oil & gas and renewable energy sectors. For a client developing a new wave energy convertor, I designed the control system and worked on mathematical modelling and optimisation of the device's physical behaviour to maximise power output. Engineering design and development for remote electromagnetic sensing devices used in marine electromagnetic geophysical surveying. I designed the world’s most powerful and temporally accurate full ocean rated EM transmitter, resulting in two patents for which I am the acknowledged inventor.

Designed the electronic control and GPS auto positioning (dynamic positioning) systems for a cutting-edge small jet-drive survey vessel.
