I also Identified weaknesses in the supply chain, and initiated and drove through process improvements by introducing department KPI’s on a day-to-day and weekly basis I also been heavily involved in organising the manning for the stores which consists of TATA employees and contracted staff, this meant I had to ensure the effective distribution of available manning to all our areas to help maintain our service for site and to ensure we were able to issue items from our satellite stores as & when required. Ensuring the flow of materials supports the needs of the manufacturing areas and the production plans. Controlling the detailed material requirements to ensure inventory is maintained within set targets for plant shutdowns and as well as meeting customer’s requirements, and to also ensure all quality critical items are in available for demand. I have also been involved in the training department to introduce a training plan for all stores staff for refresher training and to have all members of staff to be able to do all various jobs that are required by our departments. I am also involved in helping improve the Health & Safety of the department by working closely with our safety reps and our safety department to help retrain some of our staff to work more safely and realise the consequences of unsafe behaviour by introducing safe working procedures and risk assessments for all stores activities.
