About James Murphy
James Murphy was born in Dublin City. Since 1990 he has acted as an external examiner and expert judge to numerous trade associations and industry bodies and more recently the London Geller College of Hospitality and Food Studies based at the University of West London. Prior to undertaking his postgraduate research James served as President of the Bartenders Association of Ireland (B.A.I) and Board member of the International Bartenders Association (IBA). He is a regular contributor to many Irish Hospitality Industry magazines and judge to many National and International competitions including (i.e The National Hospitality Awards, Ireland and Tales of the Cocktails, New Orleans, USA). James is also the author of a number of bar, beverage management and Responsible Service of Alcohol books. For example;
