- Ensure conformance with the BHP Billiton Charter, the BHP Billiton Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.- An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.- Meet the superintendent level requirements of the BHPB Operating Discipline Standard- Ensure compliance with the requirements of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Mines Safety Inspection Regulations- Developing and implementing the Department (Group) Business Plan- Provide clear advice to line supervision and the workforce on all health and safety matters- Provide positive leadership and support for the implementation of safety initiatives- Lead and participate in audits and inspections of operational and maintenance areas across Contract Mines and Mt Whaleback as per the NJV Audit schedule- Lead, participate or coach ICAM investigation- Monitor the performance of contract mines and implement/suggest safety strategies to contract mines management as required- Maintain a weekly "time in field" allocation- Assist in the correlation of the weekly and monthly HSEC reports - Provide direct coaching and mentoring to health and safety professionals, contract employees, contract line management, BHPB line management, BHPB employees and BHPB health and safety representatives- Formulate and reiview procedures, documentation, project plans, budgets and business plans as required- Work with Environment Team to ensure OHS and Environmental Management Systems are integrated where appropriate- Assist in maintaining and improving occupational hygiene systems and procedures for Newman Joint Venture

Catastrophic Risk Management Advisor- Review and development of site Risk Profile and Risk Reduction measures through SQRA process- Piloting the new Critical Control Inspection/Observation process- Measuring compliance to CRM performance standards both in auditing and coordinating external auditors- Tracking, reporting and verification of site risk reduction measures and audits actions - Data analysis of FPe events, SAP orders, injuries etc, to identify and prioritise focus areas - Reporting and communication of Performance Standard Compliance and Potential Loss of Life (PLL) improvement to site- Providing leadership, encouraging teamwork and delegating responsibilities and accountabilities to site safety advisors to achieve desired outcomes- Developing and implementing site improvement ideas including supervisor and shopfloor tools, communications, and training package review- Period of time as acting Mt Whaleback Safety Superintendent

Reporting to the Mt Whaleback Safety Superintendent, I was responsible for building rapport, influencing and engaging departments to implement safe systems of work, catastrophic risk management, and to strive for continuous improvement in all aspects of safety. Major Responsibilities/Achievements:- Providing clear advice to line management, supervision and the workforce on all health and safety matters- Working within a team of HSE professionals to facilitate the implementation of leading HSE systems, processes and practices;- Assisting in identifying, assessing and managing catastrophic risk - Engaging in field based conversations to promote safe work practices- Conducting analysis of significant incidents and injury data, identifying trends and recommending mitigating actions- Ensuring compliance with BHPB HSE policy, management standards, statutory requirements, licences and permits through auditing and in-field verification- Extensive experience in facilitating and also coaching Line Leadership in ICAM investigation and analysis- Development and review of safe work procedures/instructions- Facilitating and coaching departments in formal risk assessment processes

Responsible for running a crew of 1 or 2 others and ensuring results were achieved according to the daily and weekly schedule. Major Responsibilities/Achievements:- Operation of bobcats, excavators, loaders, rollers, quick cut saws, grinders and large compactors- Precision construction earth work (5mm tolerance)- Preparation of area for concrete- Giving direction to crew members and liaising with supervisor
