James is an experienced Chartered Accountant who specialises in the primary sector. He also acts for commercial businesses and enjoys the variety of advisory work that a mix of clients provides. James joined Mackay Bailey in 2007 and became a partner of the firm in 2008. James specialises in the unique challenges and tax situations that face family farms and larger equity partnership farming operations. James is originally from a sheep farm in the Rakaia Gorge where his family still farms. The combination of his farm upbringing and an interest in agriculture gives him a solid understanding of farming businesses.
