Conducted research at the Center of Advanced Technologies for Deception Detection. Revised methodologies of deception detection by controlling for linguistic confounds in experimental stimuli. Responsibilities included development of experimental stimuli for directed lie paradigm (DRT), running participants in DRT, conducting statistical analyses of data, and interpreting results with respect to deception literature. Gained proficiency in psychophysiological measurement and forensic methodologies of intelligence gathering. Additional responsibilities included communicating research to professionals who desired training from scientists in detecting deception (e.g. police polygraphers).

Conducted psycholinguistic research examining sentence processing of emotional language (i.e. profanity) and disfluent language (i.e. speech errors). Primary responsibilities included developing stimuli for experimental research, controlling for linguistic confounds in stimuli, running participants in experimental paradigms, statistical analysis of data, and interpreting results with respect to psycholinguistic literature. Gained proficiency in eyetracking and behavioral methodologies, cognitive and psycholinguistic theory, experimental design and stimulus development, and advanced statistical analyses of data.
