About James O'Brien

Mr. O’Brien, an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management has a Masters Degree in Disability Studies, from the University of Newcastle, Australia. A competent senior manager and consultant with 33 years’ experience in social development, employment, education and health. Mr. O'Brien has successfully implemented major social policy reforms in developing and transitional countries for over 20 years’ working in partnership with international consulting companies; aid and donor organizations; governments; civil society and the private sector. Objective to improve the social inclusion of vulnerable and disadvantage individuals, families and marginalised populations. A significant part of his project work, has involved institutional development and the capacity building of key stakeholders. He has been responsible for the design and delivery of many comprehensive training programs related to social protection and labour market reforms in many countries. In the disability sector, Mr. O’Brien is well known for his expertise in the development of active labour market programs for disabled and disadvantaged job seekers including “supported employment” programs & “school to work transition” programs for people with disabilities.
