I can sum up my life and my labor with five phrases: hard work, constant learning, public speaking, relationship, and restoration. Few people have experienced on-the-job physical exertions that I have: walking 50 miles a week, routinely team lifting 300 pounds, and doing this in all extremes of Minnesota’s weather. While eager to find work that uses more brains than body, I’m grateful for these character lessons in persistence.It’s been my pleasure to be a lifelong student! Whether I’m in a formal education program or not is immaterial; I’m constantly curious. My creativity follows the creed of jazz drumming legend Max Roach;”Imitate, assimilate, innovate.”When I know something, I want to share it. As a public speaker, I had hundreds of experiences under my belt by the age of 24. As a musician, I’ve been “up front” onstage over a thousand times. My speaking concept is simple: know what you want to say, say it, and stop.Everything, for me, comes back to people. I’m motivated by relationships, and the joy of simply knowing the individual placed in front of me today better than yesterday. As a child of a brilliant, but bi-polar parent, I have years of experience dealing with personality challenges. Which brings me to my final value; all things and all people can be made new again! As a contractor of Target Global Photography, our team saved $5.5million through up cycling and re-use in 2014! I assisted the founding of Source, a faith-based organization that has closed gaps for homeless youth in our social services network. As a life hobby, I am a found object percussionist. I practice making music out of cast off, ordinary things. I firmly believe that nothing, and no one, is beyond hope! I want to invest my labor in places that share these values.
