As a dedicated Data Engineering professional with two and a half years of experience, I have cultivated a deep understanding of designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines and systems that support data-driven decision-making. My expertise lies in both transforming raw data into valuable insights — by way of building scalable data architectures, integrating complex data sources, and ensuring data integrity and efficiency across the enterprise — and in then analysing said data to create ‘Gold-medal’ level data aggregations ready for reporting teams to provide to Stakeholders. I am passionate about leveraging my technical skills in Python, SQL, and cloud platforms such as GCP, Databricks and Snowflake, to drive impactful solutions that enhance both data accessibility and reliability. Through my time placed with Sky Data I have also enhanced and developed my professional soft skills; this includes stakeholder engagement and working in an Agile form, as well as work as a stand-in Scrum Master, helping to keep track of the team’s efforts and plan future workloads. This also necessitates good public speaking and presenting skills, as well as working closely with stakeholders to summarise their needs and present them to other members of the team. I thrive in dynamic environments that encourage continuous learning and innovation, and I am eager to contribute to organizations that value data as a strategic asset. I am always seeking opportunities to refine my skills and expand my knowledge to stay at the forefront of evolving technologies and industry trends; I have just finished the Databricks Data Engineer Associate accreditation and am planning to use my time between jobs to further this development pathway, whether by depth in the Databricks field or breadth across a number of providers. In my spare time, I have worked as a music journalist for the past six years. This has included fostering relationships with various artists and their management, working with and interviewing high-profile names, representing the sites at events both public and private, and writing reviews for both upcoming album releases and for live performances, whether as part of a tour or for a festival.
