Supporting up to 16 residents with a range of mental disabilities, such as schizophrenia and personality disorders. Working as part of a team, we work with each person we support (PWS) on an individual basis to help them learn to have a more independent, better quality of life and achieve their personal goals. Training is done on a regular basis that covers a range of topics including health and safety, safeguarding, trauma and autism to improve our knowledge to better aid those we support.We have a dynamic work environment, no day is the same and may from time to time have to work with some difficult situations that some may find hard to process. Working here for 4+ years I have learned how to work in these intense situations and the pressures of the role. It is a great environment, the staff are very supportive of one another and have developed strong professional relationships with the residents that allow us to better support them.
