Area Sales ManagerBrulimar Optical Group Sep 2010 - Jun 2011My main duties as Area Sales Manager in the Central region are creating new customer accounts and maintaining existing accounts whilst selling our latest ranges . As Area Sales Manager I have to organise my own diary and time management by booking and creating my own appointments and visiting current accounts throughout my region to ensure they have our latest products and to overcome any objectives they might have regarding the products by offering help and support where necessary. -
DirectorFrames4U Sep 2003 - Aug 2010BrownhillsMy main duties was to open up a practice and build up the business from scratch, I had to interview for staff , advertise , stock the shop with a variety of frames , set up accounts with suppliers, build up the client database and build on the success of that. I always looked for new opportunities to take my business up to the next level. I enjoyed the challenges that I faced in the years I spent at Frames4u but when an opportunity came to let the other partner get involved more I decided to take this opportunity to set myself a new challenge . As I dealt with suppliers on daily basis I thought this was something I could achieve with my knowledge of sales and managerial skills and the knowledge of what retailers actually wanted and looked for in products . Reason for leaving: To experience a new challenge within the optical profession.

Opticians ManagerWard Opticians Jun 2001 - Sep 2003Position: Branch Manager for two Shops (Erdington and Handsworth)My main duties as a Branch Manager for both stores was to make sure they were fully staffed and that I was on hand to help any enquires the staff may have had. I also had the complete control of buying and ordering the frames for the shops to which I felt suited the clientele. I also had the complete control of pricing the frames and lenses to what I felt were acceptable within the area. I filled in the relevant paperwork required.Reason for leaving: To open my own practice.

Opticians ManagerScrivens Opticians Jun 2000 - Dec 2000Position: Branch Manager for two shops (Kingstanding Circle and Hawthorne Road)My main duties within this practice were mainly to make sure I was hitting our weekly and monthly sales targets. I was not able to have a say in the stock nor was I able to buy in frames due to it all coming from head office. I enjoyed being able to hit my weekly figures but I felt on a personal level I missed having the say on ordering frames.

Opticians Manager4 Sight Jul 1995 - Jun 2000I worked with the 4sight company for five years; I started out in the West Bromwich branch in July 1995. My position was a trainee-dispensing optician. This is where I learnt all the basics, the computer systems, filing, filling in the paper work, glazing the frames and most importantly how to sell. The end of 1995 they offered me a promotion to Assistant Manager. On accepting the promotion, I was moved in the January, to the Birmingham branch where I was made Assistant Manager. This is where I continued to progress what I had previous learnt but took on more duties with the paperwork and I started to help in choosing and in ordering of the stock. I began to glaze more and I helped the manager wherever I could. After two years at the branch I was offered another promotion to Branch Manager at the time I was the youngest ever person to become Branch Manger within the company. I was then moved to the Dudley practice in February 1998. I really enjoyed being the branch manager for 4sight. I got to buy in the frames, I interviewed for sales positions within the branch. I also had to meet the necessary targets, which was never a problem, However the Dudley branch was a quiet branch compared to the previous branches I had worked in within the company I felt I was ready to take on a busier branch but there was nothing available in the company.
