I was tasked to validate the installation of the new equipment and to identify and remediate any deficiencies of the equipment prior to conversion to the Virtual Store Architecture Enterprise Infrastructure. • Involved in the VSA Rollout (Virtual Store Architecture) process of converting over 20,000 physical servers running anything from SCO UNIX, SLES LINUX 9-11, Windows Server 2003 -2008 to a Virtual Enterprise Infrastructure to help improve TCO in both hardware costs and energy savings.• Validated the installation prior to conversion of the new equipment and was responsible for identifying and remediating deficiencies in the new equipment of the VSA Rollout (Virtual Store Architecture) over a large Enterprise Environment (covering four time zones) at multiple locations all over the United States. • Utilized Virtual Server Center 4.1 to create/add virtual machines and clusters and also to monitor and maintain the large Virtual Enterprise Environment at all times. • Scripts were written to assist my task and to determine configuration of, and connections to, a variety of external components such as attached storage and virtual machines and UPS’s, etc. The VSA Rollout will be completed within a one year time frame compared to the five years that were originally scheduled, despite the fact that there were some obstacles and problems with new hardware and obtaining some of the latest hardware releases in time.
