I specialise in providing immigration advice to a range of clients including companies, Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs).As a UK qualified solicitor with over 20 years’ experience in the immigration field, I advise on a wide range of immigration issues. I provide strategic immigration consultancy advice to a variety of major companies and have supported a number of UK startups through the sponsor licence application process. I regularly work with businesses to ensure their ongoing immigration compliance, particularly with the requirements of the Points Based System (PBS) and the illegal working legislation.I have been heavily involved in the evolution of the PBS, drafting discussion papers on behalf of the Home Office on key policy areas such as advertising, internships, settlement and business visitors. I have also led client discussion groups with the Home Office and Government Ministers on immigration and work closely with various bodies including the Greater London Authority. In relation to HNWIs, I have advised on a number of investor and entrepreneur applications as well as complex family, permanent residence and naturalisation applications.I have also worked extensively with universities and colleges, advising on the policies and processes that need to be put in place to ensure that the satisfy the appropriate immigration law requirements. On the compliance side, I have assisted companies and HEIs in their discussions with the Home Office following the threat of or actual downgrading / suspension / revocation of their sponsor licences, working to ensure they retain their licences and have the policies and processes in place to maintain ongoing compliance.I am a Co-Convenor of the Immigration Law Practitioners Association's Economic Migration Working Group and a regular speaker at conferences.
