My title is "Learning Consultant" but in reality I am a "Learning & Development Engineer". Whether it is a 30-minute skill drill for store associates or a multi-stream development program for future leaders, I design creative, effective, blended learning solutions that meet my clients' needs without breaking the bank.

After 15 years with my previous company, I decided to take some time to recharge my batteries and set a course for the next stage of my career. I spent time with family, did volunteer work in Africa, took over 3,000 photographs, wrote a couple of short stories, and took a couple courses before jumping back into learning and development full-time.

AGHI is an award-winning, Canadian-based accounts receivables management company. During my tenure as head of training, I was responsible for aligning the training function with a corproate strategy that included expansion into the United States and South Africa, an increase from 450 to 1,000 employees, and creation of two new business units within North.

I oversaw the day-to-day operations of the Vancouver branch of a collection agency. My duties included recruiting and hiring; developing budgets; setting and monitoring individual and team performance goals; coaching and motivating staff to ensure that branch targets were achieved; interacting with clients, debtors, and government authorities; and dealing.

I oversaw teams of collection officers. I established perofmance goals, provided individualized training and coaching, and conducted quality assurance reviews to ensure that files were worked according to the appropriate strategy. I often found myself overseeing portfolios from important new clients such as major banks or government bodies. I left this.
