James Pick is professor of business at University of Redlands. He is chair of the Faculty Assembly of the School of Business and Society, past chair of Department of Management and Business and founding chair of the School's faculty assembly. He is author or co-author of over 175 journal articles, book chapters, and peer-reviewed scientific papers in information systems, geographic information systems,, population, and urban studies, and author or co-author of fourteen books. His latest co-authored book, Spatial Business (Esri Press, 2022) and a new book on digital divides is forthcoming in 2025. His current research interests include spatial and socio-economic modeling of the worldwide and U.S. digital divides, spatial strategies, sharing economy, renewable energy, and study of influences on technology use in rural villages in India,. He is a senior editor of Information Technology for Development.. Dr. Pick has been on the organizing committees for international conferences in information systems and was recognized with for his co-leadership over 10 years in fostering information systems study of Latin America by the Association for Information Systems, for which he is a distinguished member, cum laude. He has received numerous research and teaching awards. He has been funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration, Esri. Inc., University of California, Ford Foundation and other agencies. Dr. Pick was a visiting scholar at University of New South Wales in Sydney, University of California Irvine, Esade in Barcelona, Lingnan University and City University in Hong Kong, and Universidad Iberoamerica in Mexico City, and a Fulbright Senior Lecturer/Researcher in Mexico, 2001.
