In January 2014, joined Griffin Markets with the objective of increasing the market share for Griffin’s coal desk and to build relationships with the traders in an extremely populated marketplace. Roll out of a new software product for traders called WEBICE. Which would increase functionality and speed of trading whilst also reducing the amount of time trades where being processed for their back office.Griffin’s share of the coal market has grown considerably over the last year. From averaging roughly 300,000 kilotonnes (KT) of coal a week to at least 3,750,000 KT per week at present.

Joined GFI with a view to set up a renewable energy desk and an Emissions desk with the vision firmly set on the EU ETS market. Prior to the start of the EU ETS I was heavily involved in the research, market planning, building of relationships and education of clients on the importance of this market. Over the following years we saw this market go from strength to strength with volumes building year on year. Also brokered European Renewable and Biomass interests (Wind, Biomass, small and large hydro projects.) Which were mainly transacted between smaller European clients, providing an opportunity to speak to these smaller clients about the EU ETS scheme. 2013 taken and past my NFA series 3 exam.

Joined the renewables desk to help bolster the team in what was a fairly new market. Tasked with bringing new clients on board and developing relationship with them. We dealt with a large range of clients ranging from banks and industrials to small Biomass traders mainly from Europe. An extremely interesting and educational time.

Joined Gas Team Energy to help them with their gas options as that progressed was also tasked with setting up the European gas prompt desk for them, after a very exciting and rewarding year more of my clients had moved to the forward curve market and I followed with them passing over most of the prompt business to a new team within Gas Team.

Set up the Exotic Currency Options desk in Tokyo for GFI with a joint venture with Ueda Harlow Butlers. I was responsible for establishing new contacts and clients in Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong and Sydney. The new desk went from having no presence in Asia to establishing itself as number 2 in Tokyo within 6 months of it's launch.

Responsible for looking after smaller clients and also bringing in new clients from Middle Eastern countries.After 2 years, I was asked to join the Exotic currency options desk because of my success in bringing in new clients for the Currency options desk; this then lead to my move abroad to Tokyo.
