A driven, passionate & empowering leader of learning with over 15 years experience of the English National Curriculum & 8 years teaching and leading the International Primary Curriculum. I enjoy the rich array of experiences that working within education provides; every day is different, often challenging but in these challenges are equally rich opportunities for growth. I believe my biggest strength is my ability to foster and develop connections with the various stakeholders inside a school community & establish relationships that serve whole school improvement. It is for related reasons that I thoroughly enjoy parent engagement; knowing that research suggests pupils attitudes to learning are shaped more at home than school, means that these relationships are crucial to the wellbeing & progress of those under my care.Prior to my initial international post in Vietnam, I had completely contrasting but equally rewarding state school experiences in the UK, teaching at a vast urban school in an area of poor economic development before moving to a rural Church of England village setting. I have enjoyed the international experience hugely and would encourage many to broaden their lives & enrich their educational journeys the same way.
