I've always enjoyed working with my hands and getting an enormous sense of pride once I've fixed something. I am always one to push myself and learn new skills and become a better engineer. I have requested to leave the forces and am awaiting an exit date, this could be as early as the start of November if accepted or August 2023. I also have an option to put a gen application in to leave before 2023 if the November date gets rejected and I have a written job offer.I am looking for mechanical engineering roles, as my time in the Royal Air Force has been mechanically biased. I am applying for engineering roles and also roles which are different from my norm of vehicle / airfield equipment planned preventative maintenance and fault diagnosis. Within my current role I have been exposed to pneumatic aircraft cabin charging rigs, hydraulic aircraft rigs, lifting tackle and also multiple vehicle platforms ranging from quad bikes to fire engines.During my time in the Royal Air Force, I have gained an NVQ Level 3 in mechanical engineering and also a NVQ level 3 in HGV maintenance and repair. I will be utilising my ELC's (Enhanced Learning Credits), to gain a HNC in a mechanical engineering field to boost my knowledge and employability further. I have also gained some other experience and courses in self auditing and also Defence Workplace Trainer which enables me to train and shadow junior ranks.UK MOD Security Cleared.
