Working in the Directorate for Basing and Infrastructure, I assistant-managed the PMO function for three major Army estate transformation programmes: Defence Estates Optimisation Programme; Army Basing Programme; and Vehicle Storage and Support Programme. The biggest of these (and therefore the focus of the role) is the Defence Estates Optimisation Programme (DEOP), which is a GMPP and DMPP programme seeking to reduce the MOD built estate by 30% by 2040, saving over £4bn in running costs within that period. Within the PMO, I recruited and managed a team which oversaw a variety of workstreams, including Benefits Management, Risk Management, Planning, Lessons Learned, and Recruitment.
