Project Title: EVI1 mediated epigenetic modulation in childhood leukaemia.Supervised by: Dr Stefan Meyer, Professor Tim Somervaille and Professor Anthony Whetton.A project investigating the molecular biology underpinning poor prognosis in leukaemia with aberrant EVI1 expression. Here molecular biology techniques, proteomics and transcriptomics have been employed to investigate phosphorylation sites and their role in EVI1 mediated epigenetic modulation. This project has also investigated a small molecule inhibitor in therapeutic treatment of EVI1 driven leukaemogenesis. This work has been presented at a number of poster session at the University with one published manuscript and two others currently in revision. Publications: EVI1 carboxy-terminal phosphorylation is ATM-mediated and sustains transcriptional modulation and self-renewal via enhanced CtBP1 association

Facilitating and teaching undergraduate practical lab sessions. In the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health for the Experimental Design Module and in the Division of Pharmacy and Optometry for the Lab skills and Extemporaneous Dispensing modules.

Providing desk research for scientific consultancy clients of PhD Pigeon. Flexible work to fit around and compliment my PhD research.
