Solicitor-Commercial Disputes: Litigation, Arbitration, ADR & Pre-Claims Risk ManagementI act for global and domestic clients in relation to a range of commercial disputes and risks, providing strategic guidance throughout the life cycle of actual or anticipated disputes. I regularly act in NSW, Queensland and Victoria. My practice is focused on high-stakes disputes, with particular attention on the construction and infrastructure sectors, significant joint venture and M&A disputes, and other complex disputes for major multinationals. I have substantial experience in the Supreme Courts of NSW & Queensland and the Federal Court of Australia, and appellate experience in the NSW Court of Appeal, the Federal Court and High Court of Australia. I have also acted in several successful negotiations and mediations, and also regularly advise on dispute risk and strategic advice on proactive steps for managing and preparing for anticipated disputes.I aim to provide exceptional client service through a combination of legal & commercial acumen, regular communication, a focus on pragmatism and cost efficiency, and a genuine passion for client success & satisfaction. My experience highlights include: - acting for Lendlease in NSW Supreme Court proceedings brought against the Barangaroo Delivery Authority regarding the development of Barangaroo; - acting for Lowe's Inc, in relation to its exit from a JV with Woolworths for the 'Masters' home hardware business in Australia;- acting for Fluor Corp and Fluor Australia in defence of Queensland Supreme Court proceedings brought by Santos in relation to the Gladstone LNG Project; - disputes regarding the NSW ETTT rail project, Wiggins Coal Export Terminal, and several other major projects & infrastructure disputes, including major telecommunications and electrical infrastructure;- recovery of approx. $500m through adjudications for Fluor Australia on the GLNG Project;- advising a major foreign multi-national on a significant joint venture exit dispute in Australia; and- acting for a multinational in relation to a significant cyberfraud suffered in Australia;- acting for a major Australian audit &professional services firm in various matters, including the defence of a significant class action, liquidators’ investigations and related proceedings in respect of a major Australian corporate collapse.
