Co-generation power plant operator and maintenance technician. Work alongside another Systems Engineer to ensure plant maintains capability to provide 250 pound steam to Caterpillar facilities. Daily shifts include: starting and securing gas turbines, boilers and other associated equipment; conduct scheduled maintenance on equipment; conduct and evaluate chemistry tests on boiler water samples; and perform any corrective maintenance necessary in order to keep the plant at maximum reliability. Specialize in controls, PLC's and maintenance management systems. Worked to start new maintenance management program at the plant to better track store room inventory, equipment history, and maintenance history. Created custom reports, using Crystal Reports, to generate requested information from maintenance database. PLC abilities include understanding ladder logic, troubleshooting systems using RS Logix / RS Linx, minor changes to ladder logic, calibration of field devices and other general PLC work.

Main responsibility was operating and machine maintenance at a co-generation power plant.Worked alongside other Systems Engineer's to ensure the plant maintains the capability to provide 250 pound steam to Caterpillar facilities. Responsible for safe and reliable operation of 15 MW Solar Titan-130 gas turbines, 600 pound Heat Recovery Steam Generators, a 5 MW Dresser Rand steam turbine, York steam absorption units and York electric chillers. Daily shifts included: starting and securing gas turbines, boilers and other associated equipment; conducting scheduled and planned maintenance on equipment; conducting and evaluating water chemistry tests on boiler samples; and performing any corrective maintenance necessary to ensure maximum reliability of the plant. Specialized in DCS controls, PLC's and the maintenance management program. Implemented a new maintenance management program at the plant to better track inventory, equipment history, and maintenance history. Created custom reports, using Crystal Reports, to generate requested information from maintenance software database. Supervised gas turbine electrician and main engine room divisions.Directly supervised 7 people in the operation and maintenance of 2 GE LM-2500 gas turbine main propulsion engines, 3 Allison 501-K17 gas turbine generator sets, hydraulic system for controlling propeller blade pitch, lube oil systems, fuel oil systems, low pressure air systems, and shafting and gearing systems. Work centers were responsible for mechanical, electrical and the control aspects of the systems. Qualified for engine room operator, Propulsion and Auxiliary Control Council Operator, and Electric Plant Control Council Operator. Additional duties included serving as a team engineer on the Visit Board Search and Seizure (VBSS) team. This team was responsible for querying suspected pirate vessels and aiding in distress calls.
