For the SCADAPack remote terminal unit product line, develop the requirements and marketing, ensure development of new features and new products.

Telemetry and Remote SCADA Solutions (TRSS) is a mid-sized business unit within Schneider Electric that develops new and enhanced products for our oil and gas flow measurement line.Lead team responsible for the development, test, and support of Realift pump off controller offers for artificial lift systems including sucker rod pumps (RPC), progressing cavity pumps (PCP) and hydraulic pumping units (HPU).• Design complete artificial lift systems including the preparation of requirements, specifications, panel and other hardware drawings, human machine interfaces (HMI) and control system software.• Develop control system software including state machines, drivers, and analysis algorithms using IEC 61131-3 compliant structure.• Create HMI software, including cell phone and tablet interfaces, using Vijeo.• Lead preparation of customer facing documentation including manuals and marketing material.• Led a small team which, in a five month period, rewrote control and HMI software to ensure a working system was delivered; this prevented the loss of a critical customer's business to a competitor.

• Evaluated design documents to create corresponding test plans, designed test systems which optimized test coverage within project constraints, and executed manual and automated engineering tests for the Realflo flow computer and Realift RPC.

• Designed, integrated and commissioned test hardware and software including scripts, routines, and drivers using LabWindows CVI, LabVIEW and TestStand on products such as portable Electronic Countermeasure Systems (ECM) and blast exposure recording devices.• Developed and implemented an automated subassembly test system for a blast exposure recording device that reduced test time from over 10 minutes to less than 4 minutes; the effectiveness of this test system led to the retirement of a separate and costly In-Circuit Test (ICT) system.• Designed and automated pressure calibration test system for blast exposure recording devices including the calibration algorithm, incorporation of high-accuracy gauge and barometric pressure sensors, and USB and Bluetooth communications; this led to a 2.5% reduction in product cost.• Led initiative that demonstrated that a blast exposure recording device accelerometer calibration algorithm could be replaced by a statistically valid standard calibration with the potential to eliminate up to 30 minutes in operator touch time.• Integrated and commissioned subassembly, functional and Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) tests for an ECM system incorporating instruments such as Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers and Power Meters. • Developed test strategy for the selection and sequencing of test operations such as ICT, functional test, calibration and ESS used during manufacturing.• Led transfer of test systems to Contract Manufacturers (CM), provided technical direction and training to CM staff, and developed system to remotely monitor test yield and operator touch time.• Generated software test plans and executed software acceptance testing for a suite of blast exposure recording devices.• Provided Design For Test (DFT) and Design For Manufacturability (DFM) feedback to the product development team on designs and requirements.• Developed templates for Software Design and Software Version Description documents.

CWID tested the interoperability of "cutting edge" technologies that address either current or future military operational needs at the multinational, joint or inter-agency level. The CWID series employed a global experimentation network to connect military services and government agencies from up to 26 nations. The experimentation network not only gives participants hands-on experience with new capabilities and permited them to measure the effectiveness of the latest technologies in interoperability trials, examined against specific objectives.• Provided technical advice concerning selection, analysis, and documentation of cutting edge Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) technologies for CWID.• Developed the Canadian CWID program’s information assurance, technical, and interoperability test criteria, methodology, and documentation incorporating DND project requirements, trade studies and industry standards.• Coordinated the preparation of trial system technical test plans by technology vendors and sponsors with an emphasis on the design of performance metrics and a view to identifying projects that will increase operational effectiveness and/or decrease cost.

• Developed test hardware and software including scripts, routines, and drivers using UNIX, LabWindows CVI, C, Visual Basic and Assembly Language used on products such as power supplies, ruggedized displays and computers, and aircraft consoles; integrated test hardware with test software.• Designed and led implementation of a replacement test system for a critical power supply used on the M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tank which increased test efficiency by 25% and reduced spurious test failures from 25% to less than 1%.• Developed and executed automated environmental stress-screening test system for low volume ruggedized smart display and single board computer systems which reduced operator touch time from 5 hours to less than 30 minutes.• Led initiative to increase quality of crucial power supply vendor by evaluating their test results, procedures and equipment in addition to conducting inspection of their facilities and operations; provided support to the vendor to ensure implementation of manufacturing and test improvements reducing their products’ rejection rate from over 10% to zero.• Conducted analysis of legacy power supply test systems, leading to replacement of worn-out test systems, creation of spare parts stock and the implementation of a preventative maintenance schedule which reduced system downtime significantly.• Led programs that ensured the qualification of legacy test systems and migrated the legacy test software suites to the configuration management system ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards such as ISO:9001.• Produced drawings and documentation including schematics, bills of material, assembly drawings, test plans, test cases, test procedures and requirements traceability matrices; the documentation set developed for a high volume power supply test was adopted as the standard by the Vetronics department for future test systems.

• Created test and calibration procedures for equipment repaired by Product Support including test systems used to acquire new support contracts such as the navigation system of the Canadair CT-114 Tutor.• Derived metrics concerning failure trends, spare parts usage, and warranty return rates for systems such as the Canadian Iris Tactical Command, Control and Communications System program in support of the conduct of Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis.• Produced the system employed to control and produce NATO Depot Level Maintenance contract required documentation, and integrated it into the existing Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System eliminating the need for additional overhead staff and training.
