I originally joined Taylor Newspapers to help boost the social media figures, then in September 2014, I became the entertainment writer for the Basingstoke Observer and Oxfordshire Guardian newspapers.Planning the entertainment section two to three weeks in advice to avoid the possibility of a missed interview, I have spoken to many well known actors, actresses, comedians, artists, magicians and authours who have performed in the Basingstoke and Oxfordshire areas. Some of this famous names include the likes of Ray Winstone, Kate Rusby, Neil Cowley, Chas & Dave, Rupert Hill, Stephen K. Amos, Jarred Christmas, The Wombats, Christian O' Connell, Brendan Cole, Niles Lofgren, Jasper Carrott and many more. At Taylor Newspapers, it is also my responsibility to update the social media pages on a consistent basis and bring in new followers to our Twitter page. Since April last year, I have managed to bring in a total 2,374 new followers to the Oxfordshire Guardian and Basingstoke Observer Twitter Accounts. Other responsibilities include voice over work for occasional videos for out website, writing the motors section and updating the websites with up to date news.

As a teaching assistant, I made sure that all of the children’s work has been filed into the correct folders, photocopy all of the necessary work and help out in creating displays around the school whilst taking part in extra-curriculum activities. When I joined the school, I was assigned to work with an autistic student where my main job was to keep him focused on his work and try to encourage him to engage with new activities around the school. As a midday supervisor, I had a responsibility that all of the children from all years were in a safe environment indoors and outdoors. On the playground, I would make sure that all of the students were playing with each other in a safe manner, where I would also introduce new games/activities, for some children who weren’t as social as others.

As an administrative assistant, my main duty consisted of creating and putting information into the spreadsheets for the sales and editorial department, so that they can access their clients or contacts with ease. For a period of time, I chased up payment for the finance department from companies who hadn't paid for their advertisement space. I was praised by my bosses for chasing up £30,000 in one week in June 2013. I would regularly answer the switchboard where I spoke to hundreds of people from all over the world. I would then take down their messages and payment details. I was invited to the 2013 London Toy Fair in January 2013 where I managed to encourage over 200 people to subscribe to our most popular magazine ‘Toys N Playthings’. I also went on to interview a number of clients from all over the world for our website which included then Tottenham Hotspur forward, Clint Dempsey. My bosses praised me for the hard work that I showed at the Toy Fair, saying that I was the ‘starlet of the exhibition’.
