Hey thanks for stopping by my profile 👋 I'm James, a REC Certified Senior Talent Acquisition Partner and Masters Degree graduate from the University of Portsmouth, currently working in-house at Immersive Labs. I work to scale our Tech & Product division in UK & Europe by engaging with Front & Back-End Developers and cyber security professionals in Appsec, Blue Team, Red Team, GRC & Cloud Security, keeping them up to date on all the fantastic opportunities we have as we grow. I also work with the Sales leadership to build out our Solutions Engineering, Enterprise Sales and Business Development teams in UK, Europe and most recently the Middle East and Australia.I love immersing myself (pun intended!) in the tech community - I am a Director & Co-Founder of the BSides Bristol Security Conference (one of the largest cyber conferences in the South West) and have previously contributed my time as a 2022 BSides London Career Panel Speaker, 2021 BSides London Rookie Track Speaker, Silver Sponsor of BSides Manchester, ISSA-UK London Chapter Member & OWASP Speaker. In my previous career at ARM, I focused on supporting the penetration testing community to secure new roles and opportunities but I've also placed Senior Directors, Security Team Leads, Sales Professionals and built technical teams for a number of well know tech vendors and consultancies. I've also worked with a number of contractors that I have successfully deployed onto CISO and DevSecOps engagements in both the UK and Europe. Recently, I've also assumed responsibility for our Sales & GTM (Go To Market) recruitment within EMEA & METNA which has been an exciting opportunity for me and allowed me to broaden my knowledge and develop my business acumen. Due to this, I've become more involved in our Onboarding process which has allowed me to diversify my skills more into the People & HR side, which has been great for my career development.I also work on our employer branding, curating internal and external content (written and video) about Life at Immersive, working in partnership with our Marketing team. As part of this, I organise events that we host in our office such as OWASP Bristol, South West Ruby, Codebar, Data South and others to ensure that we are a partner to the tech community. I'm a Director of BSides Bristol, an inclusive Cyber conference which launched on 4th November 2023. We had 300 attendees and so we came back bigger and better in 2024, with 2 days and 500 attendees! My core duties involved identifying and contacting prospective resellers of our power protection products, arranging meetings for us to attend and investigate potential sales opportunities.
