Primary responsibility was that our distributed environment was recoverable. Managed a small team and was responsible for setting goals and time lines to ensure that our environment stayed current. Supported over 2200 TSM nodes in a four state region. This included a mix of Unix, Linux and windows servers supporting various applications and databases ( SQL, Sybase and Oracle )Managed up to nine TSM servers across three data centers which included LAN Free, NDMP and Oracle TDP environments. Consolidated our SLC TSM environment from seven servers down to four. This saved the company over a quarter of a million dollars in servers alone.Implemented Tape Encryption on all distributed physical tape to protect my company and its customers PHI data.Consolidated tape libraries in our Salt Lake City data center from 13 frames down to 7. Significant savings on the support contract from IBM on this.Implemented and managed IBM Protectier VTL at our Salt Lake City data center and Sungard. SLC data was replicated to Sungard for Disaster Recovery. Last Disaster Recovery exercise we recovered over 160 servers successfully.
