James Ryan was formerly the Director - Communications and Corporate Marketing at Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Americas. In this position, Ryan was responsible for all of the internal and online communications, public relations, community relations, corporate marketing / events and corporate design for the company in North and South America.He joined Daimler in 1997 as a member of the International Associate Management program. His work responsibilities have included assignments in Germany and the United States in both the automotive and financial services side of the company.Ryan received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York and a Master’s Degree from Eberhard-Karls University in Tuebingen, Germany.Ryan lives the philosophy that communication is about creating aplatform - which is underlined by a strong visual identity - for adialogue rather than providing information in the form of a monologue.He has led creative internal communication campaigns, acted as lead spokesperson in crisis litigation communication and has built effective and productive relationships with not-for-profit groups in the arena of corporate social responsibility.As a former musician, he believes that rhythm and tempo are universal elements of effective communications.
