Following many successful, memorable and fun years of retail and sales management, I went back to college and acquired a degree in Biology (and almost another degree in Chemistry). Since then, I have been a high school Math, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics teacher dedicated to the premise that all students can learn most things when given the right opportunities to excel.For the past five years I've been privileged to teach high-school math and science courses at Colorado Early Colleges, to wonderful students in both a Title 1 urban setting, and an affluent suburban location. Teaching Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Microbiology, Pre-Algebra, Algebra(s), Geometry, and Statistics during this time has been highly challenging and indescribably satisfying! My students worked hard, achieved district-leading growth scores on standardized tests, and showered me with praises on their end-of-the-year student surveys. Now I'm eagerly anticipating the 2023/2024 school year and the chance to extend my experience to some equally wonderful middle school students, teaching science at Global Village Academy in Aurora! I feel lucky to have a place at such a charming institution.
