Previously assistant manager and the food and beverage manager, I report directly to the general manager assisting him in setting standards and implementing effective operational procedures in order to continually deliver results within budget. At this very busy four-star standard hotel I have overall responsibility for all departments whilst on duty, with a particular emphasis on reception / front of house. Between Dec 2005 and July 2007 I also took on the role of bar manager, which included all aspects of managing the hotels busy main bar and three function bars, covering everything from stock takes to staff recruitment. My current role also includes looking after the hotels pricing structure, amending and devising menus, and developing the hotels extensive wine list. I also manage the hotels environmental management system, look after all aspects of the hotels broadband and internet services, as well as managing and overseeing in house stock takes on a monthly basis, and managing department purchasing. I have in my time in the hotel gained extensive conference and banqueting experience, assisting and often deputising for the banqueting manager in the running and organising of large functions and weddings.

Ennis

As well as being responsible for the operation of two bars in a busy four-star hotel, I also had overall responsibility for guest care and staff welfare whilst on duty. I used my time in the hotel to develop a hands on approach to customer care in order to appreciate and meet/exceed guests expectations of a four star hotel.

Hove

Hove was the third highest turnover store of its size in the country, with an annual turnover in excess of £5 million. During my time there I improved store standards and grew turnover by 3.5%, as a 24 hour store I was responsible for 40 staff and 4 duty managers and helped to develop 2 of my managers into bigger positions within the company.

During my time there I completed an intensive fast track management programme; this included a number of residential training courses in personnel, business development and financial planning.

Brighton, United Kingdom

Employed by Whitbread Plc my role was to assist the managers in day-to-day operation of a busy cocktail bar and 100 cover restaurant. During my time there I developed an extensive knowledge of cocktails and general bar service as well as completing a number of in house training schemes.
