I decided to leave Taos/IBM to take up a FTE position as a Data Services Solutions Architect with Well Health, Inc. on March 7th.My goal is to help Well master it's ever growing Data Requirements and transition from a late stage Startup into a nible health care patient care portal enterprise over the next 2-4 years. WELL is the patient engagement platform that allows enterprise healthcare systems to communicate with patients in their preferred medium, whether that’s text, email, phone, or Live Chat.It enables secure, interactive text conversations using existing practice phone numbers — making it as easy for patients to communicate with their doctors as they would with a friend.Founded in 2015, WELL is utilized by some of the leading healthcare systems, including Houston Methodist and Sansum Clinic.

Principal DBA/SRE Campaign Monitor Group Emma: https://myemma.com/07/2020-03/2021Principal DBA/RE working on CMG’s RDS/Aurora Clusters.Systems Monitoring and Maintenance.Code as Infrastructure using Terraform.Planning for Aurora Postgres Upgrades across all production clusters slated to roll out in phases over the next 6 months.Developing DB Utilities to Automate reporting and maintenance on Emma data assets.Wrote pgbadger-publish: a python3 utility that scrapes Aurora Postgres logs and publishes them to pgbadger running on a dba-jump bastion server for easy access by sql savvy dba’s and developers.check_postgres/nagios: installed/configured check_postgres and instrumented it with nagios to perform preliminary introspection on the Aurora Postgres Clusters for things like Bloat, Table Locks and Transaction Wraparound.Upgraded Aurora/RDS MySQL instances from 5.6.x to 5.7.x to avoid EOL issues.Designed and developed pg_repack/repack-sharded-db bash wrapper scripts to bulk compress sharded Aurora Clusters currently experiencing a high degree of bloat.Chaos Engineering using pgreplay to mimic production traffic on db clones used to test repack-sharded-db scripts under a mocked production load. Planning and consulting on upgrading all production Aurora Postgres Instances from v9.6.x to v11.x. Proposed using pglogical over bucardo for the v9.6.x -> v.11.x upgrade data replication/migration.Spiking feature comparisons and testing of the proposed migration toolchain components as required.Upgraded the Infrastructure Kanban Process and groomed technical debt backlog.

* My first 8 months with Tenable was spent performing SRE duties supporting the custom Ansible Core Infrastructure to deploy and repair Tio 1.0 legacy applications/AWS infrastructure running in production.
