The insurance defense practice includes liquor liability, premises and habitational liability, products liability, professional liability for home inspectors, retail and hospitality liability, subrogation and recovery litigation. Additionally, we represent pilots and mechanics in FAA enforcement actions and military Flight Evaluations Boards (FEB).

Our team includes pilots, maintainers, accident investigators, aeronautical engineering instructors, MFOQA analysts, certified AME medical examiners, and attorneys representing people on both the plaintiff and defense sides of aviation litigation.

Retired Lieutenant Colonel and former Chief Pilot. Assists the Squadron Commander and Operations Officer in managing a C-17 reserve squadron. As an evaluator pilot, teaches other pilots fundamentals in aerial refueling, low level navigation, assault landings and night vision goggle operations. Ensures pilots are trained to conduct worldwide flight operations in peacetime and combat theaters of operations. Certifies pilots meet operational standards and are ready for unsupervised flight operations in peacetime and combat areas of responsibility.

Assist Southeast Aviation Law Practice Group team leader in representation of major airlines in domestic and international tort litigation, defending aircraft owners and operators in FAA enforcement cases, and representing/advising Part 91 and Part 135 operators in management/compliance issues concerning daily aircraft operations .

Supervised and/or authored over 150 accident reports for aircraft mishaps including mid-air collisions, engine failures, flight control malfunctions, landing gear failures, and controlled flight into terrain accidents. Presided over numerous interim safety investigation boards and assisted the FAA and NTSB in fatal and non-fatal accidents occurring at Charleston AFB. Served as deputy chief of wing safety overseeing flight, ground and weapons safety programs ensuring compliance with OSHA and HAZMAT regulations.
