• Designed, built and led a new centralized global product management operation that drove all new product development efforts and governed the existing portfolio of several hundred investment products to assess their overall health and marketplace success. Managed hundreds of product initiatives to drive growth in the rapidly expanding US and international businesses. Team grew from six to over twenty-five talented professionals during my leadership and has continued to grow as a highly influential center for product and business strategy at the Vanguard.• Vanguard assets under management roughly doubled from $1 trillion to 2 trillion during the three years I launched and managed the product management function. • Successful high profile product launches developed during my tenure included: Total International Bond Fund, Emerging Markets Government Bond Fund, Tax-Exempt Bond ETF, and Global ex-US REIT. • Governed the launch of successful ETF platforms in Canada, the UK, Australia and Hong Kong.

• Led institutional marketing during the 2008-2009 financial crises. Executed marketing strategies across defined contribution, defined benefit and nonprofit businesses.• Pioneered Target Date Funds: Promoted Vanguard’s then nascent target date funds through a series of campaigns to plan sponsors laying foundation for future explosive growth. • Created an Integrated Client Experience: Developed an integrated client communications process during a period of rapid proliferation of messaging to clients across multiple platforms. • Retained clients during the financial crisis: Persuaded clients to stay committed to Vanguard’s low-cost, broadly diversified, long-term philosophy despite historic volatility
