I was employed by the Health Ethics and Policy Laboratory (HEPL) as part of the Data Protection and Personalised Health (DPPH) project. The purpose of this project was to examine the use of advanced privacy enhancing technologies to allow distributed analysis on patient data for scientific research purposes. As part of this project, I assessed whether this technology was compliant with Swiss and European data protection laws. I also conducted a comparative analysis of data privacy laws in other jurisdictions, along with helping to conduct a systematic scoping review of national health information systems implementations. Finally, I conducted a series of expert interviews to assess stakeholder perspectives on privacy enhancing technology.
