For a major chemcialcompany I was the lead mechanical engineer for the scale up of a pilot process to full production unit. Equipment involved included vibrating bed air dryers, reactors, screw conveyors, pneumatic conveying systems, grinders, pumps, tanks, dehumidifier, and RTO. Vendor equipment testing, bid evaluations, and vendor drawing review were required.

Lead Mechanical Engineer for four new wall board plants for USG supervising of 20 engineers and designers for the design and standardization of various material handling systems, along with site specific HVAC requirements. Other clients and projects included MEP renovation for two Chicago Public Schools, a replacement pump station for IDOT, piping projects and SPCC plans at 3 Exxon Mobil terminals, coal conveying system for WP&L power, and a combined cycle power plant for AES CILCO.

Directed the design, engineering, and construction of the relocation of nine processing lines into two processes at the Kankakee Pet Foods plant. The relocation of these processing lines resulted in consolidating 15 packaging lines into 6 lines. This project required extensive equipment demolition and building repair in two five-story buildings, full containment asbestos removal, equipment layout and vendor selection, process piping design and layout, coordinating research, design, and operations personnel, preparing flow diagrams, contractor selection, field inspection, and construction management. Mechanical engineer for the design and construction of the heating, ventilating and fire protection systems for a $10 million, 250,000 square foot distribution warehouse and a 3,200 KW cogeneration system consisting of three diesel generators which required vendor selection and equipment testing, bid package approval, and operation and utility acceptance testing.

Lead mechanical engineer for the construction of new powerhouse and boiler feedwater treatment facilities. Directed the design, engineering, and installation of two 22 MW steam turbine generators, three 4000 cfm air compressors, plant and instrument air systems, two 500,000 pph boiler feedwater heaters, and a 2,400 gpm deionized water treatment system. Included in these duties were the preparation of operation and training manuals, vendor equipment testing, testing of piping systems to B31.1 specifications including weld inspection and repair, approving contract specifications and overseeing the utility requirements for the $300 million plant rebuild.
