I am a journeyman Carmen performing complete interior and exterior inspections on Metra's fleet of commuter coaches and locomotives. Inspections include 238 brake tests, 229 locomotive daily tests in both locomotives and controlling cab cars, and any repairs necessary on both the coaches and locomotives to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. As a journeyman, I am qualified to work as a carman at any of Metra's maintenance facilities and I am 238 and 218 qualified. As a publicly funded entity I do my part to minimize risk and waste. Metra serves an average of 292,000 passengers a day operating on 1,150 miles of track in north eastern Illinois servicing Chicago and surrounding suburbs reaching as far as Joliet, Fox Lake, Elgin, and Kenosha WI.

Inspections include 238 brake tests, 229 locomotive daily tests on both locomotives and controlling cab cars, and any repairs necessary on both the coaches and locomotives to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. As a 238 & 218 journeyman, I am qualified to work as a carman at any of Metra's maintenance facilities as well as any freight or commuter railroad in the country. As a publicly funded entity I do my part to minimize risk and waste.
