Principal Software Engineer
CurrentDesign and develop software, firmware and development frameworks for controlling a wide variety of laboratory instruments, including liquid handling robots, plate storage robots, fluorescence plate readers, radiometric plate and vial readers, bulk liquid dispensers, PCR thermal cyclers, bar code readers and plate sealers. Consult with internal application scientists and instrumentation specialists on technical details of software and hardware product features.Write device-level protocols for communicating with devices over CAN bus and USB.Implement temperature and pressure control subsystems for laboratory instruments.Implement firmware for stepping motor control.Integrate instruments for fully automated, high throughput sample processing. Implement sample tracking applications using relational database.Advise and mentor junior engineers.
