I graduated from Aberdeen University in 2003 from Biomedical Sciences with a Pharmacology degree. My scientific background facilitated involvement in developing start-up companies focusing on new technologies that were in the energy, renewables and water technology sectors. Through previous roles with technology and engineering based companies, I developed a strong skillset as project manager and business development lead, gaining valuable experience in many aspects of business – conception to reality. Given my ambitious nature and ability to understand all aspects of the businesses, these roles ultimately led to Directorship positions. The majority of my work has involved living abroad which provided an excellent opportunity with regards to gaining insight to cultural differences in the workplace and the many challenges, which must be overcome.I recently returned to Scotland to live full-time, residing in Belhaven next to the brewery. Due to my families involvement with pubs and real ale I’ve always had a keen interest in brewing and would relish in the opportunity to utilise my scientific knowledge and learn how to brew as a profession. Our family pubs, The Redgarth in Oldmeldrum and previously The Boars Head in Kinmuck were both CAMRA award-winning venues.
