Responsible for all communications across the business, reporting direct to the HR Director. My responsibilities include delivering the bi-annual Brand conferences, from concept, negotiation & contract to event day management for the 600 senior managers within the business. Developed Internal Communications strategy and design format to engage and excite the workforce population. Acted as Brand coach for our own ‘tone of voice’ in how we communicate with each other, through all of our touchpoints including on-boarding. Delivering our own quarterly internal colleague magazine from concept to reality. Delivering the business engagement programme across multiple touchpoints bringing innovative ideas to life, such as colleague forums and our own internally branded ‘Little Touches’ platform.

Building on my knowledge and experience in store I moved to Head Office and headed up the communication across the business from the main trading divisions. Responsibilities included working with Directors on a weekly basis to communicate to stores in a structured and clear manner. Prioritising workloads and processing information into clear outcomes and actions. Working alongside the Commercial and Marketing teams on event strategy and implementation guides. Reviewing communication structures and engaging with end users to develop new formats to communicate. Delivered BHS’ only ‘flagship’ store concept within the business. Introduced 5 Arcadia brand concessions, together with a full furniture offering and all own buy departments and Restaurant & cafe under one roof. Developed the store team internally identifying future potential encouraging team members to progress onto internal schemes. Developed and coached a fully engaged and motivated team to achieve results through taking ownership and being proud of everything we do together as a team. Transformed the store into 3rd best performing store in the chain taking in excess of £14M over 65,000 sqft.

Supported the Store Manager in delivering a first class customer experience in both stores. Focused on Loss Prevention, Standards, driving sales and internal People Development whilst working to tight business restraints. Oversaw all operational programmes. Acted as regional ambassador by keeping our business values alive in all we do.
