Lead three distinct yet complimentary teams to grow our intercompany business, provide engineering support for our international sales, and to manage the strategy deployment efforts for our executive team.• Intercompany Business Development - NOV business units spend hundreds of millions annually on 3rd party manufacturing services. Oftentimes these parts could be produced by one of the many global manufacturing facilities within NOV if only the connection could be made between the design teams and NOV's internal manufacturing capabilities. Our Interco team is leading the charge to insource these components and assemblies, increasing factory utilization and being more in control of our supply chain goals. While our team is primarily focused on factory in Cedar Park TX, we are quick to connect potential insourcing work with any NOV facility that has the capacity and capability to deliver.• Applications Engineering - No two drilling applications are exactly the same. Every rig has a unique mix of needs ranging from application-specific instrumentation, controls integration, and hazardous location requirements. With over a hundred years' worth of combined instrumentation experience, our engineers work alongside our customers and their sales representatives to tailor each system to the unique needs of their customer's job.• Strategy Deployment - We strive to keep a tight connection between our Mission, Vision, Values and the day-to-day work our people do. This includes a strategy map and balanced scorecard that tie complementary KPIs to the strategic initiatives we take on each quarter, ensuring we're working on the right things to manage today's business as well as tomorrow's.

There are dozens of buzzwords that could be used to describe the role of QA in the software lifecycle, but it can be summed up quite simply as ensuring that our products are built correctly and suitable for the customer. This is Verification and Validation, respectively. Did we build the product right? Did we build the right product?To do this with excellence, we drive two primary Lean principles to describe into what we do: • Build Quality In - Practically speaking, this means that we systematically drive early learning into our process with a relentless pursuit of defect prevention, not just identification. We partner with our developers to define and execute test-driven development into our software lifecycle.• Eliminate Waste - Acceptance Testing at the end of a cycle is inherently wasteful, as issues discovered this late are too costly to remedy. We work closely with our Development and Product Line teams to keep cycles of learning happening early and often through embedded testing.Critical Outputs of my role include:• Collaboration with Product Line Management (PLM), Development teams, and Field Engineering to verify and validate new software releases.• Define, monitor and continuously improve the processes we use to ensure quality at all stages of the software lifecycle.• Stay abreast of latest industry best practices and develop the skills of individual QA analysts to ensure we are constantly improving ourselves, our processes, and our productsIn addition to the QA responsibilities, my secondary role is that of Strategic Support for the Engineering organization. This primarily involves clarifying the mission and vision for the engineering community, working across disciplines to define the strategy on how to achieve them, and cascading the strategy down to the individual initiatives we believe will close the gap between where we are today, and where we want to be.

My role as the leader of the Global Product Engineering (GPE) team is to influence the success of our product development efforts and help grow the next generation of engineering leaders.The purpose of the GPE team is to provide engineering leadership on product development projects. Members of this team are the primary engineering points of contact for their assigned products and work closely with their respective Product Line Manager (PLM), engineering teams, and other functions to lead the rapid development of robust products in support of the business strategies for those product lines. The GPEs ensure product development projects are planned, executed on time and on budget, and status is communicated with excellence.Critical Outputs include:• Partner with the Product Line Management (PLM), development engineering teams, and the rest of the business to harmonize product development efforts.• Develop the skills of individual GPEs with respect to their needed job competencies, with bias towards execution, problem solving, and leadership skills. Individual GPE development is purposed long term towards strengthening the engineering leadership pipeline.• Coordinate individual GPE assignments and capacity to support development project needs.• Establish, improve, and monitor execution of the standard work for the GPE function
