In 2022 I became a license real estate salesperson in the State of California working with the Wilson and Co. Real Estate Brokerage based in San Luis Obispo.James is a local product of San Luis Obispo with an intimate working knowledge of the residential neighborhoods and commercial real estate districts on the Central Coast. James brings an extensive background (20 years) in community development, Executive level business management, leadership, and, both residential and commercial real estate enterprise. James holds a BA and MA in Humanities from the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB) and University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC) and has 10 years of experience in non-profit organizational leadership, education and social service programming. He has held the post of Executive Director with the agency since 2011 and has been successful in adding service sites and expanding the total number of clients served and therapists involved during his tenure. A SLO native spun from a family tradition of public service, Statler has also contributed to the local community through his involvement with the Suicide Prevention Council Planning, CAPSLO-Teen Pregnancy Prevention Taskforce, Anti-Gang Coordinating Commission, Vision Unida Community Building Institute, Transitions Mental Health Association, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Boys & Girls Club of North and South San Luis Obispo County, Cuesta College and SLO History Center Board of Directors. Statler was honored as a “Top 20 Under 40” by the Tribune newspaper for 2011 and in 2010 was the recipient of the Giraffe Award for “sticking his neck out” on behalf of youth in San Luis Obispo County. Leadership, advocacy, program growth and innovation have followed James at all junctures in his career, and the privilege of strengthening the local mental health safety through CCC’s mission to build and support an emotionally strong community, is embodied in his passion for the work each and every day.
