Wattisham Flying Station Suffolk

Led training, development and assurance for 250+ aviation specialists providing best-in-class support to international helicopter operations. Saved on costs and minimised waste in the supply chain by identifying in-service solutions to equipment that were unfit-for-purpose, following a fleet-wide analysis. Initiated a study that established the effects of noise on groundcrew, resulting in new H&S procedures and the procurement of improved hearing protection. Rapidly grasped complex procedures to ensure changes to groundcrew working policy were compliant with legislation, reducing fatigue-related safety occurrences.

Managed the secure storage, maintenance and dispatch of £240 million+ worth of equipment used to support international operations on land and sea at short notice. Presented detailed project status updates to board level leaders on all risks, issues, dependencies, solutions and change requests. Planned and led a complex logistical project to despatch and recover high value equipment and 73 personnel by land, sea and air to/from the Middle East. Transformed historical non-compliance and achieved a strong audit pass.
