Specialist engineers in the manufacture and supply of cable machinery, heat treatment furnaces and continuous rotary extrusion lines.My role is split 50/50 between technical sales and business development.TECHNICAL SALES:I am responsible for the Cable Machinery sales for Meltech Engineering (we also sell Heat Treatment and Continuous Rotary Extrusion machines). This represents £1 - 2 Million pounds annually of capital equipment sales. The machinery is suited for a range of applications from very fine medical wire, too 400mm diameter Umbilical cables for the oil and gas industry. I am responsible for generating new business, project management through to machine manufacture, application design work, quotations, closing deals etc. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT:50% of my time is allocated to Business development (supported by my MBa studies). Currently I am developing a Service and Support business within Meltech which will become a core business unit, and supporting the shift to a knowledge based strategy. Additionally I am applying for European funding grants of £1 - 2 Million on behalf of Meltech.

I am primarily a design engineer working on large transmission gearboxes. This includes predominantly the design of rotating components and interfaces along with efficiency and tribology calculations. Additional security aspects control and program duties are carried out.

Development of automated design solutions (3D CAD) followed by generation of new sales through incorporation of design into sales solutions. Key experience in this role was; Mechanical design, Fluid dynamics, Sales and product development.
