FACE Engineering was established in August 2003. It comprises of a machine and fabrication shop providing a niche engineering service to industry. In March 2009 Face purchased an NX Mach 3 CAD design bundle and moved into the 3D design sphere, this business grew quickly and in 2012 Face implemented Teamcenter PLM to manage further expansion of the design consultancy.

My time was divided between working as a freelance grip on feature films, commercials and television drama and operating the FACE machine and fabrication shop. As the design aspect of the business developed I relinquished my role as a grip with this ceasing in May 2011.

Big Toys provide camera support services to the film industry. I worked as a grip on feature films, commercials and television drama. I was also responsible for specialist rig, equipment design and manufacture.I left full time employment with Big Toys to start Face Engineering and continued to service Big Toys on a contract basis.

Located in a factory in Leichhardt NSW, I secured on-going contract fabrication and machining work in heavy industry, motorsport and film. The plant and equipment was retained, housed and utilized for the duration of the arrangement with Big Toys Film Services and became the basis of the Face Engineering facility.

Flowserve sells pumps, valves and mechanical seals. My responsibilities included handling complicated fitting and machining operations. I was also responsible for leading contract labor when working on breakdowns or fulfilling large orders as well as managing full time staff.

I purchased and prepared a car to compete in the national series and secured sponsorship. As well as handling all aspects of the race team, I was a contract engineer, to supplement the race budget.

I began my engineering career with BHP securing a four year cadetship at their Port Kembla site. I was indentured as a trainee engineer over a four year period, whilst at the same time studying to complete an associate diploma in mechanical engineering.
