I joined LOVEFiLM as a Perl devleoper in 2011 shortly after their acquisition by Amazon. I spent a few months in the Business As Usual team before moving to the billing team and playing an important role in the migration of LOVEFiLM's back-end stack to Amazon's infrastructure. In 2012 all of the developers at LOVEFiLM were moved to Amazon Instant Video teams, and I found myself in working in Purchasing and Subscriptions developing Java systems that powered AIV's device-based purchasing experience. In 2013 worked on the project to migrate all of LOVEFiLM's subscriptions to AIV, which was at the time the largest customer information migration that Amazon had ever performed. In the early months of 2014 I was promoted to SDE II and successfully applied for an internal transfer to Seattle, where I spent two years as a lead engineer in the Digital Ordering team in Amazon's Digital Store Platform department.

I joined IBM's graduate scheme after being placed in their 'top talent' internship program, Extreme Blue, in the summer before my final year of University. As a graduate I moved between several projects but spent most of my time in the CICS group, developing the core mainframe software and test frameworks to support it.

During my gap year I worked a short-term contract as an office administrator.
